Gabriela Tumova

Gabriela Tumova (born Prague 1946) studied in 1965-1970 at the Institute for Art in Prague. Formative artists at the beginning of her artistic development were reknowned lace artists such as Milca Eremiasova and Prof. Marie Vankova. She soon developed her own direction in 'graphic lace'. The artist finds her inspiration in the spiritual realm. In her original lace work in natural materials she not only wants to express joy and beauty, but also sadness and human suffering. Gabriela Tumova has represented modern Czech lace work for example in Regensburg (Witnesses and Testimonies of Faith) and in the castles of Beveren and Walcourt (Belgium).

Next to her artistic work, she also teaches at Jabok Pedagogical and Theological School.
